We are very pleased that you have chosen the School of Graduate Studies at North Carolina A&T State University to pursue your academic studies. The mission of the School of Graduate Studies is to foster excellence in all facets of the graduate enterprise at North Carolina A&T State University, including the admission of highly qualified students, maintenance and development of graduate programs, enhancement of graduate faculty and development of the graduate enterprise.
North Carolina A&T State University is a land-grant university, which provides opportunities for advanced study to qualified individuals who wish to improve their knowledge and skills. We offer over 50 fields of study in the College of Arts and Sciences, College of Engineering, School of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, School of Business and Economics, School of Education, School of Technology, and Interdisciplinary Studies. The School of Graduate Studies offers Master of Science, Master of Science in Management, Master of Science in Technology Management, Master of Arts, Master of Arts in Teaching, Master of School Administration, a Joint Master of Social Work with UNCG, and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in a unique approach to the graduate enterprise that comprises the combined efforts of an intercultural faculty and staff, a diverse student population, and unequaled research and learning opportunities. After reading the instructions, please complete the online application as thoroughly as possible. Your failure to provide complete, accurate, and truthful information on this application will be grounds to deny or withdraw your admission, or dismiss you after enrollment. When you are finished, click the 'SUBMIT' button on the left column of any application screen. Print the application agreement statement that appears after you submit the application. Return the printed application agreement statement with a nonrefundable fee of $45 to North Carolina A&T State University.
Instructions for U.S. citizens
- Application: Mail the application agreement statement and a $45 nonrefundable fee to the School of Graduate Studies, 120 Gibbs Hall, North Carolina A&T State University, Greensboro, NC 27411. The fee must be in the form of a personal check, certified check, or money order made payable to North Carolina A&T State University. Cash will not be accepted.
- Transcripts: Request two (2) official transcripts from each college or university you have attended. Transcripts are considered official when received in a sealed envelope from each institution.
- Graduate Test Scores: Applicants’ test scores must be forwarded directly to North Carolina A&T State University by the official testing service or agency. Please refer to the
Graduate Catalog and/or visit our website to determine the required test scores for each academic department. Student-supplied copies of the test scores are not considered official. The School Code is 5003. Official test scores are reportable for a period of five years from the date of the exam.
- Letters of Recommendation: Submit three (3)
Letters of Recommendation from persons familiar with your academic work. Whenever possible, one of these forms should be completed by the chairperson of your undergraduate or graduate major department or a faculty adviser. Letters of recommendation will be accepted in lieu of or in conjunction with the forms.
- Letter of Intent: Submit a personal statement describing career goals, research interests and a list of publications, experience, academic honors and organizations. Although it is not required by all academic departments, admission committees consider this statement to be a document that strongly supports the application for admission.
- Résumé: A résumé is required if you are interested in receiving financial support via University fellowships and assistantships, departmental assistantships and fellowships and other awards sponsored through federal, state, and private grants and contracts.
- The application and all supporting documents should be filed as early as possible to allow sufficient time for processing by both the academic program and the graduate school. The application and all supporting documents must be received by the graduate school no later than July 1 for fall, November 1 for spring, and April 1 for summer sessions. Some programs have an earlier deadline; therefore applicants are responsible for contacting the academic department for specific deadline information. Applicants also can refer to the
North Carolina A&T State University Graduate Catalog and/or visit our website to determine the specific deadlines for the programs.
- Students who choose not to complete the application process or do not enroll for the semester in which they are applying may request to defer their application and supporting documents up to one year. After one year, students are required to complete the entire application process again.

- Transcripts Evaluations: A course-by-course transcript evaluation must be requested by the applicant through one of two external agencies; Educational Credential Evaluators, Inc. (www.ece.org) or World Education Services (www.wes.org). Evaluations must be forwarded by the agency directly to the School of Graduate Studies, 120 Gibbs Hall, North Carolina A&T State University, Greensboro, NC 27411.
- TOEFL Scores: Official TOEFL scores must be at least 550 or better (213 computer-based score) for students whose native language is other than English. Please have the scores submitted directly to the School of Graduate Studies.
- Graduate Test Scores: Applicants' test scores must be forwarded directly to North Carolina A&T State University by the official testing service or agency. Please refer to the

International applicants are required to provide the university with verification that the required funds are available to support the proposed program of study. The applicant must also provide information regarding current visa status. Special forms to supply this information can be obtained from the School of Graduate Studies or by contacting the International Students and Scholars Office at 122 Murphy Hall, North Carolina A&T State University, Greensboro, NC 27411 or (336) 334-7551 or isso@ncat.edu.

How to Use the North Carolina A&T State University Graduate Online Application
|
To complete the online application, simply type your answers in the corresponding fields or select your answers from
the popup lists (where applicable).
After you complete a screen, click the NEXT button at the bottom or on one of the sections listed on the left
column to move to a different screen. Before you are allowed to jump screens, we will inspect your data on the current
screen for errors or inconsistencies. If errors or omissions are found, you will be returned to the screen to correct
your answer(s). Otherwise, your data will be saved and you will proceed to the requested screen. We also allow you to
skip to another screen without your new data being saved. Be aware that if you use the Skip & Jump function
on the left column, data on the current screen will not be saved and will have to be re-entered prior to submittal.
When you have completed the application please check your work. When you are ready, click the 'SUBMIT' button located on the left column to submit the
application.
