Thank you for your interest in the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. We welcome applications submitted through the College Foundation of North Carolina (CFNC) and support CFNC in its mission to promote access to higher education.
As you're completing your CFNC application, we encourage you to explore the University by creating your own UNC homepage at http://www.admissions.unc.edu. Use your UNC homepage to schedule a campus tour, learn more about the University, respond to invitations to on- and off-campus events, and check the status of your application once you've submitted it.

Three Steps to an Easier Application
1. Beat the deadline
Submit your application well before the deadline. This gives us more time to notify you of missing items and ensure your application is complete.
2. Make sure your application is complete
No later than four weeks after you submit your application, we will begin notifying you regularly, by e-mail and through your UNC homepage, of any required credentials that are missing from your file.
3. Check your e-mail and your UNC homepage often
Because we use e-mail and your UNC homepage to advise you of missing items, please check them frequently. We will post your admissions decision on your UNC homepage. Please make sure we have an accurate e-mail address where we can reach you throughout the year. If your address changes, notify us immediately either by updating your profile on your UNC homepage or by writing to us.

High School Transcripts
Some North Carolina public high schools have the capability to electronically send official high school transcripts when you apply online. We encourage you to visit your school counselor to verify coursework and grades prior to requesting an electronic transcript.
To send an electronic transcript, you must:
- Complete this online application.
- Make sure you have entered the following information in your profile and/or application:
- First and last name
- Date of birth
- NCWise ID (Your NCWise ID is your public high school student
identifier number. Providing the NCWise ID is voluntary and if provided
will give you the opportunity to request your high school transcript
electronically)
- Gender
- Current high school
- E-mail address
- Be currently enrolled at a participating public high school in North Carolina (one that has converted from the SIMS system to NCWISE to manage student data). If you are not sure about your school, check with your school counselor or office staff.
If these conditions were met when you submitted your application, you will then be presented with the option of sending your high school transcript electronically to that school.
