Freshman Admission

A complete freshman admissions file includes:
  1. Completed application for admissions
  2. Official high school transcripts or GED results
  3. SAT I or ACT scores
  4. Application fee waived for online applicants
Although Methodist University has a rolling admissions deadline, we encourage students to apply as early as possible. Once a file is complete it is typically read, and students are notified of their status, within seven to fourteen days. We welcome qualified applicants for the fall or spring semester.

Transfer Admission

Applicants seeking admission as transfer students must fulfill the following requirements. They must have official copies of all high school transcripts or GED results, and postsecondary transcripts forwarded to the admissions office. They must show overall academic success at all former institutions. Standardized test scores (SAT I or ACT scores) must also be provided unless the student will be over 21 years old prior to enrollment. For students with more than 31 semester hours of college credit, the admissions decision will be based solely on collegiate performance. For students with less than 31 semester hours of college credit, admissions decisions will also take high school performance into consideration. All transfer students must be eligible to return to the last postsecondary institution attended. All transfer students must successfully complete the English Placement Examination before registering for classes.

A complete transfer admissions file includes:
  1. Completed application for admissions
  2. Official (final) high school transcripts or GED results
  3. Official transcripts from all postsecondary institutions
  4. SAT I or ACT scores (if under 21 years old at time of enrollment)
  5. Application fee waived for online applicants
Although Methodist University has a rolling admissions deadline, we encourage students to apply as early as possible. Once a file is complete it is typically read, and students are notified of their status, within seven to fourteen days. When all postsecondary transcripts are received by the admissions office, those transcripts are sent to the registrars office for evaluation of transfer credit. We welcome qualified applicants for the fall or spring semester.

High School Transcripts

Some North Carolina public high schools have the capability to electronically send official high school transcripts when you apply online. We encourage you to visit your school counselor to verify coursework and grades prior to requesting an electronic transcript.

To send an electronic transcript, you must:

  • Complete this online application.
  • Make sure you have entered the following information in your profile and/or application:
    • First and Last name - This must match your NCWISE name (use the name that appears on your report card, or check with your high school counselor).
    • NCWISE Student ID - Your NCWISE Student ID is your public high school student identifier number and can be found on your report card. Providing the NCWISE Student ID is voluntary and will give you the opportunity to request your high school transcript electronically.
    • Current high school (or high school at time of graduation)
    • Date of birth
    • E-mail address
    • Gender
  • Be currently enrolled, or enrolled at the time of graduation, at a participating public high school in North Carolina that has converted from the SIMS system to NCWISE to manage student data. If you are not sure about your school's current status, or status at the time you graduated, check with your school counselor or office staff.
If these conditions were met when you submitted your application, you will then be presented with the option of sending your high school transcript electronically to that school.
